TrustNet records where you’ve been so someone you trust can find out where you were last — not where you are right now. Your phone logs a point only when you meaningfully move, encrypts it, and stores it off your device where no one, including us, can casually look. A named contact can only request that record if you go missing, and you’re notified the moment they do.
Every other safety app is a window
Most location apps give the people you share with a live map — always on, always watching. Once that window exists, someone looks through it: a partner checking in too often, a parent who never stops, an app that quietly widens what it shows. The other standard answer is a panic button, and a panic button assumes you can reach your phone and press it — which is exactly the moment that’s most likely to fail.
How it works
There’s also an SOS. If you can open the app, it sends your current location straight to your contacts — into their TrustNet app and by email. It only works if you can open the app: it isn’t automatic, and it isn’t hands-free.

What we’ll never do
Here’s the part we won’t dress up: we do store your location. Every point your phone records sits encrypted, off your device, until it ages out. We never promised to store nothing — we promised that nobody gets to look. Think less window, more safe-deposit box: something’s in there, but no one opens it without a name, a verified request, and a reason.
Frequently asked questions
Isn’t this just a tracking app?
No. Tracking apps show your location continuously to whoever you’ve shared with. TrustNet does the opposite: nobody sees a location, ever, unless you go missing and a named contact formally requests it. Day to day, the most anyone sees is your name and when you last updated.
What if someone takes my phone?
Only the contacts you’ve named can ever request your location, and we verify their identity by email first — whoever is holding your phone can’t do that. The SOS does require your phone to be unlocked and the app open, so treat it the way you’d treat any app on your device.
What if I can’t reach my phone?
The background trail doesn’t need you to do anything — it’s already recording points as you move. A named contact can still request your last recorded location even if you never open the app or press SOS.
Does it drain my battery?
TrustNet doesn’t stream your location constantly. It logs a point only when you significantly move, using the same efficient location APIs iOS uses for far more battery-hungry features.
Is it on Android?
Not yet. TrustNet is iPhone only.
